Domestic Undergraduate Plan
All full-time domestic students enrolled, as well as co-op students enrolled on a full-time basis, are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan on a voluntary basis. Online credits count toward the minimum hours, but may not exceed 50% of hours required for eligibility.
Graduate Assistant Plan
All graduate assistants with assignments of ten (10) hours (0.25 FTE) or greater for the full semester in the Fall and/or Spring semesters, and who meet the minimum monthly stipend established by the Office of the Provost, are required to have health insurance coverage and will be automatically enrolled in this insurance plan. Online credits count toward the minimum hours, but may not exceed 50% of hours required for eligibility.
Domestic Graduate Plan
All domestic graduate students taking a minimum of six (6) credit hours, or who are enrolled and completing their thesis, are eligible to enroll in this insurance plan on a voluntary basis. Online credits count toward the minimum hours, but may not exceed 50% of hours required for eligibility.
International Students and Scholars
All non-immigrant students and scholars and their Dependents in F and J status who are attending or participating in a program at Auburn University, and J scholars employed by AU but not eligible for AU BCBS, are automatically enrolled in this insurance plan on a mandatory basis. OPT are eligible to enroll by contacting the Office of Insurance. Online credits count toward the minimum hours, but may not exceed 50% of hours required for eligibility. Dependents will be required to be enrolled in the plan concurrently with the insured student and/or upon arrival to the US. Waiver for participation may be granted at the discretion of the administrator for students who are already covered under certain government or embassy sponsored plans.
